My computer crashes while loading the game
I got guild wars and everything runs fine untill i get to the loading screen. Ive already created my character and everything else. After i go to play the game starts to load and crashes when it gets to 100%. The screen then goes black and an error message pops up saying "Your system has recovered from an error save and reboot your system" Then after that i cant do anything. Do u think this is becuase i dont have a good enough graphics card?

My son's PC is having a similar problem. He can get into the game, but after about 3-5 minutes it hangs and the PC reboots. XP, P4 1.6 Ghz, 512MB RAM, 128MB Ti4200 vid card. I've tried new drivers, new BIOS, disabling antivirus, different refresh rates/resolutions, and playing GW in a window. Nothing works.

Yes, freezes. He is in game when this happens. It has happened both in Ascalon and out in the world.
I just removed his sound card and am now using the on board audio. We'll see if that makes any difference.
Oops....he just yelled from his room, it froze again. He doesn't have this problem in any other games (Warcraft III, C&C Generals, others...).

To the OP:
Sounds like a graphics driver issue. First figure out your video card, then if you have new drivers roll back to an older version or if you have old drivers update to a newer version.

I just disabled automatic restart after a crash. It is the NVidia driver causing the crash, I get a BSOD and nv4_disp is the cause. I tried using the latest Nvidia drivers, same problem. I also uninstalled that version and installed the version from Windows Update (dated sometime in 2003). Same problem.
Argh.

wow.... lots of people are getting this crashing error..... I'm one of them too.... I formatted, unistalled my ATI drivers, upgraded the drivers, downgraded the drivers, got directX, got Omega Drivers... But still, it's the same thing. The game crashes after about 10 to 30 minutes, and I have to restart the computer because it just stops responding... btw, I am using a laptop, Toshiba Satellite, Radeon 9700. On behalf of everyone who loves the game, but hates the crashes, please anyone help us!!!!!!

I submitted a support request with GW support. They got back to me in about 5 minutes (AWESOME!), but they want me to send them the dxdiag results, which I can't do from work. I actually ran dxdiag last night, all tests, and it didn't find any problems.

Grish you are absolutely right
The problem is the nv4_disp.dll file.....maybe a dev will take note of this HUGE problem, and get a hotfix out asap...........................

Is your son using Teamspeak? I've frozen from Teamspeak in GW.
